I have been an American Council on Exercise certified personal trainer for five years. I specialize in weight loss, functional movements, TRX, kettlebell training and calisthenics. I played lacrosse for over ten years and have always been an all-around athlete. I have recreationally enjoyed other sports such as rock climbing, mountain biking, jiu-jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, basketball, tennis and running. In my free time I enjoy playing guitar, bass and drums and will occasionally write a song. In terms of my own training routine, I focus on training in a practical way that incorporates simplicity and a "cover-all" approach. While I have dabbled in all methods of exercise, I now stick to a routine that aims to promote health by moving in ways the body was meant to move rather than focusing purely on strength and size. This has greatly improved my mood, quality of life, body composition, confidence, joint pain, injury frequency and overall wellbeing.
I have gone from killing myself in the gym and using strict dieting to basically eating whatever I want and not training that often. Some foods are healthier than others and some exercises might burn more fat or build more muscle than others but the best foods and the best exercises for you are the ones you can stick to. Period. Don't change your workout. Don't change your diet. Change your lifestyle.
